3:17. But whoever has the world's possessions and sees his fellow Christian in need and shuts off his compassion against him, how can the love of God reside in such a person?

3:17. If someone has enough money to live well and sees a brother or sister in need but shows no compassion-- how can God's love be in that person?

3:17. But whoso hath the worlds goods, and beholdeth his brother in need, and shutteth up his compassion from him, how doth the love of God abide in him?

3:17. Suppose a believer who is rich enough to have all the necessities of life sees a fellow believer who is poor and does not have even basic needs. What if the rich believer does not help the poor one? Then it is clear that God's love is not in that person's heart.

3:17. But whoever has the world\'s goods, and sees his brother in need, and closes his heart of compassion against him, how does the love of God remain in him?

3:17.
